At the Council Retreat in January, newly elected members were asked to walk through the building and look at Immanuel to see it the way visitors might, including our activities, worship and the building itself.
If you have taken a good look at 105 recently, you too might notice that is has become cluttered and rather shabby looking. Miriam Circle has volunteered to work to remedy this with the help of others, of course, and The Building and Grounds Committee has given its approval for Miriam Circle Members to begin the project.
Plans are underway to repaint, make curtains, add a set of wall cabinets, remove clutter and in general, beautify a room that is used as one of our main meeting places and one that welcomes many visitors. Naturally, we would like all who use the room to feel welcome, comfortable and to see that we give loving care not only to people, but our surroundings as well. Approximate costs should be under $600.
In order to fund this project plans include the following:
- Donation of $100 from a grant for Church Growth
- Miriam Circle Trust Fund totaling about $100
- Funds gathered from the Chili’s Partner Program
- Paint for the project will be donated by Ron and Jodi O’Toole
- Personal donations already pledged from several members
We hope that this project can be completed before the fall programs begin, but to make sure we find funding, it may be done in stages. Dates for the makeover will be determined soon to accommodate the groups using the room and availability of volunteers who will do the work. If you would like to help with your time and work, speak to one of the Miriam Circle members listed. Envelopes for monetary donations will be provided as well, for those of you who would like to assist in making this well used room look better as soon as possible.
